Key Programming Using Two Programmed Keys

Programming 

NOTE: This procedure is used to program additional keys and requires two previously-programmed keys to be present.
  1. Enable spare key programming.
  2. Make sure all the doors are closed and that they remain closed until the procedure is complete.
  3. Refer to the Owner's Literature for the passive key backup starting location and place one of the previously-programmed passive keys in the backup starting location.
  4. NOTE: The following steps must be completed within 30 seconds.

    Press the START/STOP button.

  5. Wait 5 seconds and then press the START/STOP button again.
  6. Remove the first previously-programmed passive key.
  7. Within 10 seconds, place the other previously-programmed passive key in the backup starting location and press the START/STOP button.
  8. Wait 5 seconds and press the START/STOP button again.
  9. Remove the second previously-programmed passive key.
  10. NOTE: A maximum of 4 keys can be programmed into the vehicle.

    Wait 5 seconds and then place an unprogrammed passive key in the backup starting location and press the START/STOP button.

  11. NOTE: If the key does not successfully program, wait at least 10 seconds before attempting to repeat the procedure.

    Verify the RKE transmitter operates and the vehicle starts using the new passive key.
