Transmission Control Module (TCM): Installation
- 1.
Install the TCM mounting bracket and the nuts and bolts.Torque:
Nuts: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
Bolts: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
- 10.NOTE: When connecting the high voltage cables to the TCM, make sure the retainers are torqued to specification. Failure to fully seat and torque the connectors can result in damage to the TCM due to exposure to the environment.
Connect the high voltage cables to the TCM and install the retainers.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
- 11.NOTE: When installing the TCM, always connect the larger 40-pin connector first, then the smaller 24-pin connector. Make sure both connectors are fully inserted.
Connect the TCM.
- 12.
Install the cowl panel. Refer to: Cowl Panel .
- 13.
Install the air cleaner and outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner . Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .
- 14.NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Upload the module information from the diagnostic tool to the module using the Programmable Modules Installation routine. Use the General Equipment: Ford Diagnostic Equipment
- 15.
Fill the Electric Powertrain Cooling System. Refer to: Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding .
- 16.
If the TCM was replaced, perform the Transmission Strategy Download. Refer to: Transmission Strategy Download .
- 17.
If the TCM was replaced, perform the PATS Parameter Reset. Refer to: Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Parameter Reset .
