DTC U053B Invalid Data Received from Image Processing Module A: Action

CARRY OUT a self-test of the IPM-A. If the diagnostic scan tool indicates the module is not responding, REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to diagnose the network communication concern. If IPM-A DTCs are present, REFER to REAR VIEW MIRRORS to diagnose the IPM-A system fault. If there are no DTCs in the IPM-A, SET the ignition to OFF.

DISCONNECT and INSPECT all IPM-A electrical connectors and related inline connectors for corrosion, bent pins, pushed-out pins and spread terminals. REPAIR as necessary.
