Body Control Module (BCM) - Push Button Start

The BCM determines the vehicle ignition mode based on the start/stop switch input, the BPP input (automatic transmission) or CPP input (manual transmission) and RFA module messages. The BCM communicates the ignition mode to the other modules over the MS-CAN and HS-CAN. The BCM monitors the start/stop switch input and the ignition mode outputs, if a fault is detected in the ignition system, Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are set in the BCM.
