Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
With the ignition ON, the diagnostic scan tool communicates with the ABS module over the HS-CAN2. Communications can be interrupted by a wiring condition such as a short to ground, a short to voltage or an open circuit; module failure is also a cause of no communication.
Possible Causes
- Fuse
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- ABS module
- AT1: VERIFY THE NO COMMUNICATION DIAGNOSTICS HAVE BEEN PERFORMED NOTE: Diagnostics in Module Communications Network (Except Electric Vehicle) MUST BE CARRIED OUT before continuing with this pinpoint test.
- Carry out the appropriate pinpoint test in Module Communications Network (Except Electric Vehicle) .
- Has the appropriate pinpoint test in Module Communications Network (Except Electric Vehicle)
been carried out for the no communication concern?
Yes No INSTALL a new ABS module.
CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new ABS module.REFER to Module Communications Network (Except Electric Vehicle) and CARRY OUT the ABS module does not respond to the diagnostic scan tool pinpoint test.
