Front Strut and Spring Assembly: Assembly
WARNING:
Coil springs and strut assemblies are compressed under extreme load. Always use a spring compressor for disassembly. Follow procedure instructions carefully and make sure the spring compressor has the correct spring plates or adapters. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.
- 1.
Apply grease on specified area.Material: Motorcraft ® Silicone Brake Caliper Grease and Dielectric Compound / XG-3-A (ESE-M1C171-A)
- 2.NOTE: Make sure that these components are installed to the noted removal position.
Assemble the front strut and spring assembly as per the noted position.
- 4.NOTE: Make sure that the spring is correctly located in the lower spring seat.NOTE: Make sure that the installation marks are aligned.
Align the installation marks.
- 5.NOTE: Use an Allen key to prevent the piston rod from rotating.
Tighten the piston rod nut.
Torque: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm)
