Side Obstacle Detection Control Module: Removal

Side obstacle detection (SOD) module 

1. NOTE: If installing a new side obstacle detection module, it is necessary to upload the module configuration information to the scan tool prior to removing the module. This information must be downloaded into the new side obstacle detection module after installation.

   Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the side obstacle detection module following the onscreen instructions.

2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to: Jacking And Lifting - Overview .
3. Disconnect the electrical connector, remove the screw and the side obstacle detection module.

4. Remove the wheel and tire assembly. REFER to: Wheel And Tire .
5. Remove the pin-type retainers, separate the wiring tie, and disconnect the side obstacle detection module electrical connector.

6. Remove the screws and position the rear wheel well liner aside.

7. Remove the pin-type retainer and the side obstacle detection module bracket.
