WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Ford Escape. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Refer to Auto-Start-Stop System for schematic and connector information.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

When the ignition is turned on, the auto-start-stop system is automatically enabled and the indicator should be off. If the auto-start-stop system detects a malfunction, it is disabled, and the OFF lamp on the switch illuminates continuously. All other BCM and PCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) should be repaired first. The auto-start-stop status indicator and auto-start-stop disable switch are part of the active park assist switch assembly.

BCM DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
B12CA:11 Start/Stop "Eco-Start" Status Indicator: Circuit Short To Ground Sets when the BCM detects a short to ground from the auto-start-stop status indicator circuit.
B12CA:15 Start/Stop "Eco-Start" Status Indicator: Circuit Short To Battery or Open Sets when the BCM detects an open or short to voltage from the auto-start-stop status indicator circuit.
