Pinpoint Test S : An Individual Button Or Feature Is Inoperative From The RKE Transmitter
- S1 VERIFY THE DOOR LOCK OPERATION
- Press the lock and unlock button on the door lock control switch while observing the door lock operation.
Do the door locks operate?
Yes GO to S2. No GO to Pinpoint Test I . - S2 VERIFY THE HORN OPERATION USING THE HORN OUTPUT (HORN) PID
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, view the BCM PIDs.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, command the BCM HORN PID on then off.
Does the horn sound when commanded on?
Yes GO to S3. No REFER to Horn . - S3 VERIFY THE HAZARD LAMP OPERATION
- Activate the hazard flasher lamp function.
Do the hazard lamps operate correctly?
Yes If equipped with a manual liftgate, GO to S4.If equipped with a manual liftgate, GO to S5. No REFER to Exterior Lighting . - S4 VERIFY THE LIFTGATE LATCH RELEASE OPERATION
- Unlock the doors using the door lock control switch.
- Press the liftgate release button located on the liftgate.
Does the liftgate latch release?
Yes If equipped with the factory remote start, GO to S6.If not equipped with the factory remote start, REPLACE the suspect IKT. PROGRAM the new IKT. REFER to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment in Anti-Theft Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) . No GO to Pinpoint Test N . - S5 VERIFY THE POWER LIFTGATE OPERATION
- Unlock the doors using the door lock control switch.
- Press the power liftgate open/close button located on the instrument panel.
Does the power liftgate open?
Yes If equipped with the factory remote start, GO to S6.If not equipped with the factory remote start, REPLACE the suspect IKT. PROGRAM the new IKT. REFER to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment in Anti-Theft Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) . No REFER to Body Closures . - S6 VERIFY THE REMOTE START BUTTON INPUT USING THE LAST RECEIVED (RKE) TRANSMITTER BUTTON PRESS (LST_RKE_XMTR) PID
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, view the BCM PIDs.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, monitor the BCM LST_RKE_xMTR PID while pressing the remote start button on the suspect IKT.
Does the PID indicate the remote start button is being pressed?
Yes GO to Pinpoint Test U . No REPLACE the suspect IKT. PROGRAM the new IKT. REFER to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment in Anti-Theft Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) .
