Pinpoint Test Am : An Individual Button Or Feature Is Inoperative From The RKE Transmitter

  1. AM1 VERIFY THE DOOR LOCK OPERATION

    • Press the lock and unlock button on the door lock control switch while observing the door lock operation.

    Do the door locks operate? 

    Yes  GO to  AM2.
    No  GO to Pinpoint Test AD .
  2. AM2 VERIFY THE HORN OPERATION USING THE HORN OUTPUT (HORN) PID

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, view the BCM PIDs.
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, command the BCM HORN PID on then off.

    Does the horn sound when commanded on? 

    Yes  GO to  AM3.
    No  REFER to Horn .
  3. AM3 VERIFY THE HAZARD LAMP OPERATION

    • Activate the hazard flasher lamp function.

    Do the hazard lamps operate correctly? 

    Yes  GO to  AM4.
    No  REFER to Exterior Lighting .
  4. AM4 VERIFY THE POWER LIFTGATE OPERATION

    • Press the power liftgate open/close button located on the instrument panel.

    Does the power liftgate open? 

    Yes  GO to  AM5.
    No  REFER to Body Closures .
  5. AM5 VERIFY THE REMOTE START BUTTON INPUT USING THE LAST RECEIVED TRANSMITTER ID BUTTON PRESS (LST_XM_B_PRS) PID

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, view the RFA module PIDs.
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, monitor the RFA module Lst_Xm_B_Prs PID while pressing the remote start button on the suspect passive key.

    Does the PID indicate the remote start button is being pressed? 

    Yes  GO to Pinpoint Test AO .
    No  REPLACE the suspect passive key. PROGRAM the new passive key. REFER to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment in Anti-Theft Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) .
