Climate Control System - Vehicles With: Electronic Manual Temperature Control (EMTC) - Overview
The climate control system consist of the following components:
- Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor - fixed displacement
- A/C pressure transducer
- Ambient Air Temperature (AAT) sensor
- Air inlet door actuator
- Blower motor
- Blower motor resistor
- Blower switch (fan speed control switch)
- Compressor clutch assembly
- Condenser
- Connecting refrigerant lines
- Door actuator - air inlet
- Door actuator - defrost/panel/floor
- Door actuator - temperature
- Evaporator core
- Evaporator temperature sensor
- Heater core
- Heater core and evaporator core housing
- Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) control module
- Receiver drier desiccant bag
- Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV)
The Electronic Manual Temperature Control (EMTC) system heats or cools the vehicle interior depending on the HVAC control panel selection.
- The control panel selection determines heating or cooling, air distribution and enables blower motor operation.
- The blower switch (fan speed control switch) varies the blower motor speed.
- The temperature control setting determines the outlet air temperature.
- The air distribution control setting determines the airflow mode or to turn the system off.
- During A/C operation, the system reduces the relative humidity of the air inside the vehicle.
