Module Network Input Messages: Power Steering Control Module (PSCM)
| Broadcast Message | Originating Module | Message Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| ABS active | ABS Module | Used to confirm that the ABS is operational. |
| Active park assist steering angle request | PAM | This message is first sent to the GWM and then to the PSCM. This message is a request from the PAM to turn the front wheels for the active park assist system. |
| Calculated steering angle | IPMA | This message contains the steering angle necessary to aid the driver during a lane keeping assist function. |
| Ignition status | BCM | This message is first sent to the GWM and then to the PSCM. Used to confirm the ignition status of the vehicle. |
| Lane departure warning status request | IPMA | This message informs the PSCM of the current lane departure system status; idle, not used, warning left, suppress left, warning right, suppress right, suppress right-left. |
| Lane keeping aid intervention request | IPMA | This message requests the type of lane keeping assistance required to aid the driver; intervention left, suppress left, intervention right, suppress right, in progress, suppress right-left. |
| Lane keeping alert request | IPMA | This message requests the type of lane keeping alert (in the form of steering wheel vibration) from the PSCM; none, low, medium or high. |
| Lane keeping system ramp type request | IPMA | This message informs the PSCM of the type of steering input require; smooth or quick. |
| Power pack status | PCM | This message is first sent to the GWM and then to the PSCM. Used to inform the PSCM of the current engine operating status; off - torque not available, on - torque not available, on - torque available or start in progress - torque not available. |
| Road curvature | IPMA | Used to inform the PSCM the vehicle is driving through a curve in the road. The PSCM ignores any lane keeping requests if the vehicle is driving through a curve. |
| Stability-traction control event in progress | ABS Module | Used to confirm the operational state of the stability control system. |
| Steering angle | ABS Module | The ABS calculates the steering wheel angle based off information from wheel speed signals and stability control information from the RCM. |
| Vehicle lateral acceleration | ABS Module | Used for operation of the lane departure warning and lane keep assist systems. |
| Vehicle speed | PCM | This message is first sent to the GWM and then to the PSCM. Used to determine the level of assist supplied. |
| Wheel speed data | ABS Module | Used to validate the steering wheel component angle by comparing the rotational speeds of each wheel. The difference in the speed of each wheel is used to derive a steering angle for comparison against the absolute steering angle message from the SASM. |
