Liftgate/Luggage Compartment Lid Release
The liftgate/Luggage Compartment lid release system is inhibited when the vehicle speed exceeds 7 km/h (4.3 mph). The liftgate/Luggage Compartment lid release system is also inhibited from the release switches when the vehicle doors are locked.
If the liftgate/Luggage Compartment lid release switch on a RKE transmitter is pressed one time, the liftgate/Luggage Compartment lid releases when the release switch located on the liftgate/Luggage Compartment lid is pressed within 45 seconds. The button on a RKE transmitter must be pressed twice within 3 seconds for the liftgate/Luggage Compartment lid latch to release.
When the liftgate/Luggage Compartment lid release system is not inhibited, the liftgate/Luggage Compartment lid latch can be released from the interior or exterior liftgate/Luggage Compartment lid release switch.
The BCM sends a voltage signal to the exterior release switch. When the exterior release switch is pressed, the signal is routed to ground, pulling the signal low and indicating a request to release the liftgate/Luggage Compartment lid latch.
The interior release switch is integrated into the headlamp switch. When the switch is pressed, the headlamp switch sends the request over a LIN to the BCM.
When the BCM receives a valid request to release the liftgate/Luggage Compartment lid, the BCM supplies voltage to the latch. The liftgate/Luggage Compartment lid latch then actuates to release the liftgate/Luggage Compartment lid.
