Pinpoint Test D : Unable To Program Keys
- D1 CHECK FOR RFA (REMOTE FUNCTION ACTUATOR) MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE SELF-TEST
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the RFA module self-test.
Is any DTC other than B10D7:05 present?
Yes RESOLVE these Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) first. REFER to the RFA module DTC Chart in this article. No GO to D2 - D2 CHECK THE PASSIVE KEY
- Verify the correct passive key is used with the vehicle. Refer to the PATS Job Aid in the Service Tips tab on the Professional Technician Society (PTS) web page or the on-line parts catalog.
Is the correct key used?
Yes ATTEMPT to program the key again. Refer to: Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment . If key programming fails, GO to D3 No OBTAIN the correct key for the vehicle. PROGRAM the new key. Refer to: Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment . - D3 PROGRAM A SECOND PASSIVE KEYNOTE: This step requires a second passive key. If only one key is available, a second passive key must be obtained.
- ATTEMPT to program a new valid passive key. Refer to: Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment .
Does the new key program to the vehicle?
Yes DISCARD the damaged key in question. No INSTALL a new PATS center antenna. Refer to: Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Center Antenna .
