Diagnostic Aids

For DTC U3000:42 or U3000:49, during the ignition cycle the DTC initially sets, the PSCM either enters manual mode, reduced assist mode or steering assist is gradually reduced until the PSCM enters manual mode. During the next ignition cycle after the DTC sets, if the PSCM is not already in manual mode the PSCM removes steering assist and enters manual mode. The module also transmits an invalid steering angle message over the HS-CAN and sends a message to the IPC to display the STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED in the message center.

For DTC U3000:96, the PSCM removes assist during startup, transmits an invalid steering angle message over the HS-CAN and sends a message to the IPC to display STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED in the message center.

The presence of either of these DTCs prevents the active park assist system (if equipped) and lane keep assist system (if equipped) from activating. If set during an active park or lane keep assist event, the event is terminated and the assist system is deactivated.
