BCM DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

DTC	Description	Fault Trigger Conditions
B12E8:11	Liftgate/Tailgate Control/Release Switch: Circuit Short to Ground	A continuous DTC that sets when the BCM detects a short to ground from the liftgate release switch input circuit.
B12E8:23	Liftgate/Tailgate Control/Release Switch: Signal Stuck Low	An on-demand DTC that sets when the BCM detects a short to ground from the liftgate release switch input circuit.

Possible Causes

Fuse
Wiring, terminals or connectors
Liftgate release switch
Liftgate latch
BCM

Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks

Inspect the BCM fuse 65 (10A) and make sure it is OK.
