Rear Climate Control - Overview: Overview
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Ford Transit Connect. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
An optional rear climate control system is available for long wheelbase wagon models only. The system is a one-piece unit located under the driver front seat and extending back under the 2nd row LH side passenger floor. The rear climate control system has a separate blower motor, blower motor control module, A/C evaporator and an electric booster heater. It does not have a separate heater core. For information on the electric booster heater operation, Refer to: Supplemental Climate Control - System Operation and Component Description .
- The RHVAC control module selection determines heating or cooling, air distribution and enables rear blower motor operation.
- The combination temperature control and air distribution control setting determines both the outlet air temperature and air outlet location (from the registers located in the rear of the B-pillar trim panels in front of the 2nd row seats, the panel registers at the beltline in front of the 3rd row seats or a combination of both).
- The blower motor control module varies the rear blower motor speed.
- During A/C operation the rear climate control system reduces the relative humidity of the air inside the vehicle.
