Power Folding Mirror Operation
The power folding mirrors can be manually or automatically activated. During automatic operation, when the vehicle is locked or unlocked using a RKE transmitter, the DDM receives the central lock command and the central lock last command message from the BCM and supplies voltage and ground to the LH exterior mirror folding motor to fold or unfold the LH exterior mirror. The DDM sends the passenger mirror fold command message to the PDM, which supplies voltage and ground to the RH exterior mirror folding motor to fold or unfold the RH exterior mirror.
The power folding mirrors can be manually activated when the ignition is on by setting the exterior mirror selection switch to the center position (LH or RH not selected) and pressing the exterior mirror control switch in the down direction. When the DDM receives the mirror fold request from the master window control switch via the LIN circuit, the DDM checks in memory to see what the last fold action was (fold or unfold). After the appropriate fold or unfold action is determined, the DDM supplies voltage and ground to the LH exterior mirror folding motor and sends the passenger mirror fold command message to the PDM. Upon receipt of the passenger mirror fold command message, the PDM supplies voltage and ground to the RH exterior mirror folding motor.
