Pinpoint Test BD Lost Communication With GWM
- BD1 : CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this service information, refer to Safety Warnings in appropriate GENERAL INFORMATION article. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury. Refer to Pyrotechnic Device Health and Safety Precautions.
- Ignition ON, engine OFF.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out a network test.
- Does the GWM pass the network test?
Yes No Go to BD2. To diagnose no communication with the GWM. REFER to: appropriate Module Communications Network article. - BD2 : CHECK THE RCM CONTINUOUS MEMORY DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (CMDTCS)
- Ignition ON, engine OFF.
- Carry out the RCM self-test.
- Clear the RCM DTCs.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Carry out the RCM self-test.
- Is DTC U0146:00 retrieved again?
Yes No Go to BD3. The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - BD3 : RETRIEVE THE RECORDED (DTCS FROM THE RCM SELF-TEST
- Check the recorded DTCs from the RCM self-test.
- Is DTC U3003:16 or U3003:17 recorded?
Yes No REFER to the DTC/SYMPTOM CHART . Go to BD4. - BD4 : RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCS FROM THE GWM SELF-TEST
- Carry out the GWM self-test.
- Check the recorded DTCs from the GWM self-test.
- Is DTC U3003:16 or U3003:17 recorded?
Yes No REFER to: Communication Network in appropriate Module Communication Network article. CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new GWM.
