Pinpoint Test BG Lost Communication With Became
- BG1 : VERIFY THE CONCERN WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this service information, refer to Safety Warnings in appropriate GENERAL INFORMATION article. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury. Refer to Pyrotechnic Device Health and Safety Precautions.
- Ignition ON, engine OFF.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out a network test.
- Does the BECAME pass the network test?
Yes No Go to BG2. To diagnose no communication with the BECAME, REFER to the appropriate procedure in appropriate Module Communications Network article. - BG2 : CHECK THE RCM CMDTCS
- Carry out the RCM self-test.
- Clear the RCM DTCs.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Carry out the RCM self-test.
- Is DTC U0112:00 retrieved again?
Yes No Go to BG3. The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - BG3 : RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCS FROM THE RCM SELF-TEST
- Carry out the RCM self-test.
- Check the recorded DTCs from the RCM self-test.
- Is DTC U3003:16 or U3003:17 recorded?
Yes No REFER to the DTC/SYMPTOM CHART . CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new BECAME.
REPEAT the RCM self-test. If DTC U0112:00 returns, INSTALL a new RCM. REFER to appropriate SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
