DSM DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| B1B86:00 | Seat Height Motor Relay: No Sub Type Information | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the rear height motor relay (integral to the DSM) does not agree with the relay setting, or the motor appears to be stalled in both directions. The DSM retries motor operation on the next activation of the seat control switch. If no movement is detected, the DSM disables the output. |
| B1B87:11 | Seat Height Motor Speed/Position Sensor: Circuit Short To Ground | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the position sensor feedback circuit is less than 0.5 volts. After this DTC is set, a memory recall is not possible but the seat control switch can operate the associated motor in two-second increments. |
| B1B87:12 | Seat Height Motor Speed/Position Sensor: Circuit Short To Battery | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the position sensor feedback circuit is greater than 8 volts. After this DTC is set, a memory recall is not possible but the seat control switch can operate the associated motor in two-second increments. |
| B1B88:00 | Seat Slide Motor Relay: No Sub Type Information | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the horizontal motor relay (integral to the DSM) does not agree with the relay setting, or the motor appears to be stalled in both directions. The DSM retries motor operation on the next activation of the seat control switch. If no movement is detected, the DSM disables the output. |
| B1B89:11 | Seat Slide Motor Speed/Position Sensor: Circuit Short To Ground | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the position sensor feedback circuit is less than 0.5 volts. After this DTC is set, a memory recall is not possible but the seat control switch can operate the associated motor in two-second increments. |
| B1B89:12 | Seat Slide Motor Speed/Position Sensor: Circuit Short To Battery | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the position sensor feedback circuit is greater than 8 volts. After this DTC is set, a memory recall is not possible but the seat control switch can operate the associated motor in two-second increments. |
| B1B90:00 | Seat Tilt Motor Relay: No Sub Type Information | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the front height motor relay (integral to the DSM) does not agree with the relay setting, or the motor appears to be stalled in both directions. The DSM retries motor operation on the next activation of the seat control switch. If no movement is detected, the DSM disables the output. |
| B1B91:11 | Seat Tilt Motor Speed/Position Sensor: Circuit Short To Ground | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the position sensor feedback circuit is less than 0.5 volts for more than 100 milliseconds. After this DTC is set, a memory recall is not possible but the seat control switch can operate the associated motor in two-second increments. |
| B1B91:12 | Seat Tilt Motor Speed/Position Sensor: Circuit Short To Battery | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the position sensor feedback circuit is greater than 8 volts. After this DTC is set, a memory recall is not possible but the seat control switch can operate the associated motor in two-second increments. |
| B1B92:00 | Seat Recline Motor Relay: No Sub Type Information | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the recline motor relay (integral to the DSM) does not agree with the relay setting, or the motor appears to be stalled in both directions. The DSM retries motor operation on the next activation of the seat control switch. If no movement is detected, the DSM disables the output. |
| B1B93:11 | Seat Recline Motor Speed/Position Sensor: Circuit Short To Ground | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the position sensor feedback circuit is less than 0.5 volts for more than 100 milliseconds. After this DTC is set, a memory recall is not possible but the seat control switch can operate the associated motor in two-second increments. |
| B1B93:12 | Seat Recline Motor Speed/Position Sensor: Circuit Short To Battery | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the position sensor feedback circuit is greater than 8 volts. After this DTC is set, a memory recall is not possible but the seat control switch can operate the associated motor in two-second increments. |
| B1B94:24 | Seat Height Up Switch: Signal Stuck High | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the rear height control switch is stuck in the up position or a short to voltage is present on the rear height switch input circuit for greater than 30 seconds. |
| B1B95:24 | Seat Height Down Switch: Signal Stuck High | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the rear height control switch is stuck in the down position or a short to voltage is present on the rear height switch input circuit for greater than 30 seconds. |
| B1B96:24 | Seat Slide Forward Switch: Signal Stuck High | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the horizontal control switch is stuck in the forward position or a short to voltage is present on the horizontal switch input circuit for greater than 30 seconds. |
| B1B97:24 | Seat Slide Backward Switch: Signal Stuck High | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the horizontal control switch is stuck in the rearward position or a short to voltage is present on the horizontal switch input circuit for greater than 30 seconds. |
| B1B98:24 | Seat Tilt Up Switch: Signal Stuck High | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the front height control switch is stuck in the up position or a short to voltage is present on the front height switch input circuit for greater than 30 seconds. |
| B1B99:24 | Seat Tilt Down Switch: Signal Stuck High | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the front height control switch is stuck in the down position or a short to voltage is present on the front height switch input circuit for greater than 30 seconds. |
| B1C00:24 | Seat Recline Up Switch: Signal Stuck High | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the recline control switch is stuck in the up position or a short to voltage is present on the recline switch input circuit for greater than 30 seconds. |
| B1C01:24 | Seat Recline Down Switch: Signal Stuck High | This DTC sets when the DSM detects the recline control switch is stuck in the down position or a short to voltage is present on the recline switch input circuit for greater than 30 seconds. |
Possible Causes
- Fuse
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Seat control switch
- Horizontal motor
- Seat track
- Seat backrest
- DSM
Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks
- Verify there are no obstructions or debris that could cause a restriction/binding in the seat track.
- Verify RJB fuse 9 (25A) is OK.
