Component Description: SCME

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Lincoln Navigator. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The SCME controls the operation of the driver and passenger side heated/ventilated seat system. The SCME is integral to the DSM. PMI is required on both the DSM and the SCME when a new DSM is installed.

When the heated seats are activated, the SCME monitors the seat cushion temperature sensor and supplies heater current to the seat cushion and backrest heater mats until the desired setpoint temperature is reached. Once the setpoint temperature is reached, the SCME cycles the heater circuits on/off as required to maintain the setpoint temperature.

When the ventilated seats are activated, the SCME controls the speed of the backrest and cushion blower motors dependent upon which vent mode is selected (low, med, or high).
