Remote Function Actuator (RFA) Module: Installation

  1. 1.

    Install the Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module and the 2 nuts.

      Connect the electrical connectors.

    1. 2.

      Tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).

  1. 2.

    Install the LH side quarter trim panel. For additional information, refer to Interior Trim and Ornamentation .

  1. 3.

    Program the Intelligent Access (IA) keys (minimum of 2) into the new RFA module. For additional information, refer to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment in Anti-Theft Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) .

  1. 4.

    Carry out the parameter reset between the RFA module and the BCM. For additional information, refer to Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Parameter Reset in Anti-Theft Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) .

  1. 5.

    Download the RFA module configuration information from the scan tool to the new RFA module by following the scan tool on screen instructions.

  1. 6.

    Turn the ignition ON.

  1. 7.

    Carry out the keyless entry keypad code reset. For additional information, refer to Keyless Entry Keypad Code Programming in Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems .

  1. 8.

    Carry out the RFA module self-test to confirm all DTCs have been cleared.
