Pinpoint Tests Purpose

To verify PSCM DTC U0300 is present and provide diagnostics if DTC U0300 is currently active in the PSCM.

Z1: REFLASH AND VERIFY THE PSCM DTC

Ignition ON, engine OFF.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, make sure the PSCM is programmed (flashed) to the latest level of software. Follow all diagnostic scan tool instructions.
Clear the PSCM DTCs.
Ignition OFF.
Wait at least 90 seconds for the modules to completely shut off.
Carry out the PSCM self-test.
Is DTC U0300 present and active in the PSCM?

Yes	No
INSTALL a new EPAS gear. REFER to Power Steering article. ORDER a replacement EPAS gear and INCLUDE the RVC on the form. If this is a Ford paid repair, INCLUDE the RVC on the warranty claim form.	If the PSCM does not list DTC U0300, DISCONTINUE the test and REFER to the DTC Index for direction.
