Cooling Module: Removal

All vehicles
- 1.
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Jacking and Lifting .
- 2.
Drain the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding .
- 3.
Recover the A/C system refrigerant. For additional information, refer to Climate Control System General Information .
- 4.
Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery, Mounting and Cables .
- 5.
Remove the RH and LH headlamp assemblies. For additional information, refer to Exterior Lighting .
- 6.
Remove the front bumper cover. For additional information, refer to Bumpers .
- 10.
Detach the electrical connector retainer and the wiring harness retainer from the top RH side of the cooling fan motor and shroud.
- 13.
Disconnect the cooling fan motor electrical connectors and detach the wiring harness retainers from the cooling fan shroud.
- 14.
Release the BJB retaining tabs and detach the BJB from the bracket. Detach the wiring harness retainer from the LH side of the cooling fan motor and shroud. Position the BJB and the wiring harness aside.

Remove the hood latch assembly bolts, cable retainer, and position the hood latch assembly aside.
Vehicles without an auxiliary transmission cooler
- 21.
Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler hoses from the radiator and remove the transmission cooler tube pin-type retainer.
Vehicles with an auxiliary transmission cooler
- 22.
Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler hoses from the auxiliary transmission cooler and the radiator.
All vehicles
- 23.
Remove the condenser inlet fitting bolt, the condenser outlet fitting nut and disconnect the fittings.- Discard the O-ring and gasket seals.
