Pinpoint Tests Purpose

To verify PSCM DTC P160C is present and provide diagnostics if DTC P160C is currently active in the PSCM.
- BF1: VERIFY THE PSCM DTC
- Ignition ON, engine OFF.
- Clear the PSCM DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Wait at least 90 seconds for the modules to completely shut off.
- Ignition ON, engine OFF.
- Carry out the PSCM self-test.
- Is DTC P160C present and active in the PSCM?
Yes No INSTALL a new EPAS gear.
REFER to Power Steering article
ORDER a replacement EPAS gear and INCLUDE the RVC on the form.
If this is a Ford paid repair, INCLUDE the RVC on the warranty claim form.If the PSCM does not list DTC P160C, DISCONTINUE this test and REFER to the DTC Index for direction.
