Pinpoint Tests Purpose

To verify PSCM DTC P061A is present and provide diagnostics if DTC P061A is currently active in the PSCM.
- Y1: VERIFY THE PSCM DTC
- Clear the PSCM DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Wait at least 90 seconds for the modules to completely shut off.
- Ignition ON, engine running.
- Carry out the PSCM self-test.
- Does DTC P061A return?
Yes No INSTALL a new EPAS gear.
REFER to Power Steering article.
ORDER a replacement EPAS gear and INCLUDE the RVC on the form.
If this is a Ford paid repair, INCLUDE the RVC on the warranty claim form.If the PSCM does not list DTC P061A, DISCONTINUE this test and REFER to the DTC Index for direction.
