Powertrain Drivetrain Mount Neutralizing

For information on Ford Color Coded Illustrations refer to OEM COLOR CODING .

Adjustment 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Remove the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray .
  3. Loosen, but do not remove, the 2 engine mount bolts.

  4. Remove the bolts, the pin-type retainers and the engine mount reinforcement bracket.

  5. Loosen, but do not remove the 2 roll restrictor bolts. Verify that the roll restrictor is loose.

  6. NOTE: Do not twist or strain the powertrain/drivetrain mounts or damage to the mounts may occur.

    Center the engine and transmission mounts to the center of the slots in the mount brackets.

  7. Tighten the 2 engine mount bolts.

    Torque

    : 59 lb.ft (80 Nm)

  8. Install the engine mount reinforcement bracket, the pin-type retainers and the nuts.

    Torque

    : 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

  9. NOTE: Rock the powertrain/drivetrain assembly forward and rearward to ensure the roll restrictor is not bound.

    Tighten the 2 roll restrictor bolts.

    Torque

    : 92 lb.ft (125 Nm)

  10. Install the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray .
  11. Test the system for normal operation.
