Fuel Pump Driver Module (FPDM): Removal

For information on Ford Color Coded Illustrations refer toOEM COLOR CODING

NOTE: The top frame mounted fuel pump driver module is located on top of the left frame rail behind, the left rear wheelwell or the side frame mounted fuel pump driver module is located midway, on the outside of the left frame rail.

All Vehicles 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting .

    Top Frame Mounted 

  2. Remove the left rear splash shield retainer, then position the left rear splash shield out of the way.

  3. Disconnect the fuel pump driver module electrical connector.

  4. Remove the fuel pump driver module bolts, then remove the fuel pump driver module.

    Side Frame Mounted 

  5. Remove the fuel pump driver module cover retainers, then remove the fuel pump driver module cover.

  6. Disconnect the fuel pump driver module electrical connector.

  7. Remove the fuel pump driver module bolts, then remove the fuel pump driver module.
