Park Detect Switch

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Ford Transit Connect. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The park detect switch (PDS) is a normally open momentary contact switch that closes when the shift lever is place in the P position. The PDS signal is used by the IC to illuminate the P in the PRNDM display. On vehicles without intelligent access, the PDS also grounds the key removal inhibit solenoid in the ignition lock cylinder.
