Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
With the ignition ON, the CCM sends messages to the IPMA over a private CAN.
The IPMA then sends these messages to the ABS module over the HS-CAN 2. If the ABS module does not receive these messages within a certain time frame, the ABS module sets a DTC. For information on the messages sent to the ABS module by the CCM, refer to the appropriate service information
PPT R ABS MODULE DTC FAULT TRIGGER CONDITIONS
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| U0104:00 | Lost Communication With Cruise Control Module: No Sub Type Information | This DTC sets in continuous memory and on-demand when any of the messages from the CCM are missing. This can be due to a CCM failure, an IPMA failure, a circuit failure or excessive load on the HS-CAN2. |
| U0405:41 | Invalid Data Received From Cruise Control Module: General Checksum Failure | This DTC sets in continuous memory and on-demand if the ABS module receives 'fault' or 'unknown' information in the collision mitigation by braking messages from the CCM instead of valid checksum information. |
| U0405:82 | Invalid Data Received From Cruise Control Module: Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated | The CCM sends a rolling counter value to the ABS module. This DTC sets in continuous memory and on-demand if the rolling counter value does not increase past 1. |
| U2107:00 | Collision Mitigation By Braking: No Sub Type Information | This DTC sets when the collision deceleration message from the CCM is sent too often or the duration of the message is too long. This is most likely caused by a network communication concern or an internal failure of the CCM. |

- R1: CHECK THE MODULE COMMUNICATION
- Ignition ON, engine OFF.
- Press the Read Vehicle Information button to view the results of the modules communicating on the network.
- Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs.
- Does the CCM pass the Network Test?
Yes No RETRIEVE and RECORD all CCM DTCs. REFER to the appropriate service information. If there are no DTCs in the CCM, Go to R3. DIAGNOSE the CCM does not communicate with the diagnostic scan tool. REFER to appropriate service information - R2: CHECK THE IPMA COMMUNICATION NETWORK NOTE: The IPMA may also be known as the LDW camera.
- Review the results of the modules communicating on the network from the previous step.
- Did the IPMA pass the Network Test?
Yes No RETRIEVE and RECORD all IPMA DTCs. REFER to appropriate service information If there are no DTCs in the IPMA, Go to R3. DIAGNOSE the no communication concern with the IPMA. REFER to appropriate service information - R3: RECHECK FOR THE ABS MODULE DTCS
- Clear the ABS DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON, engine OFF.
Carry out the ABS self-test.
- Are any of the DTCs listed in the DTC Fault Trigger Conditions Table retrieved again?
Yes No Go to R4. The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - R4: CHECK FOR DTC U3003:16 AND U3003:17
- Review the results from the ABS module self-test.
- Is DTC U3003:16 or U3003:17 present?
Yes No For DTC U3003:16, Go to PINPOINT TEST A .
For DTC U3003:17, Go to PINPOINT TEST F .Go to R6. - R5: CHECK FOR DTCS IN THE CCM
Carry out the C-CM self-test.
- Are any DTCs present?
Yes No DIAGNOSE the CCM DTCs. REFER to the appropriate service informationl. Go to R6. - R6: CHECK FOR OTHER CAUSES OF COMMUNICATION NETWORK CONCERN NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC being set, the module configuration can be incorrectly set during the PMI or the PMI may not have been carried out.
- Check the vehicle service history for recent service actions related to the CCM or ABS module. If recent service history is found:
- Verify the correct replacement module was installed - HVBOM may be used to verify correct part fitment.
- Verify the configuration of replacement module was correct - re-configure the module using as-built data if prior configuration is suspect.
- Verify the module was not obtained from a like vehicle and installed into customer vehicle - return the swapped module to source vehicle and obtain new replacement module.
- Operate the system and determine if the observable symptom is still present.
- Is the observable symptom still present?
Yes No Go to R7. The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been due to incorrect parts replacement procedures or incorrect module configuration. - Check the vehicle service history for recent service actions related to the CCM or ABS module. If recent service history is found:
- R7: CHECK FOR COMMUNICATION DTCS IN OTHER MODULES
- Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs.
- Is DTC U0104:xx, U0405:xx or U2107:xx set in 1 or more modules in addition to the ABS module?
Yes No Go to R8. Go to R9. - R8: CHECK FOR CORRECT CCM OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- conn_eauger_1479227526_acronymCCM#1acronym (Cruise Control Module) connector disconnected.
- ABS Module connector disconnected. (C135)
- Using a good light source, inspect all disconnected electrical connectors for the following:
- corrosion - install new connector or terminal and clean the module pins
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals or pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- spread terminals - install new terminals as necessary
