Body Control Module (BCM) and Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Car Configuration
NOTE:
The BCM and IPC have a unique procedure to set Car Configuration Parameters. Configuration changes made will affect several modules. If the car configuration is changed in the BCM or IPC, an adaptive learning of the car configuration may be required in some modules (such as ABS module or RCM), depending on the changed parameter.
NOTE:
On the scan tool, first select Module Programming > Programmable Parameters > Car Configuration Parameter(s) > Vehicle Configuration > Retrieve the Vehicle Configuration Data. Next select Module Programming > Programmable Parameters > Car Configuration Parameter(s) > Vehicle Configuration > Modify and Reinstate Vehicle Configuration Data. Change parameters as needed.

For diesel engines, set the speed limitation using car configuration parameters only (per the steps in the note above). For gas engines, after the car configuration parameters are selected (per the steps in the note above), set the same speed limit value a second time by selecting Module Programming>Programmable Parameters>Speed Items.
