Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

With the ignition ON, the RCM sends messages to the ABS module over the HS-CAN 2. If the ABS module does not receive these messages within a certain time frame, the ABS module sets a DTCs. For information on the messages sent to the ABS module by the RCM, refer to the Description and Operation in the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control article.

| U0452:83 | Invalid Data Received From Restraints Control Module: Value of Signal Protection Calculation Incorrect | Sets if the checksum in the messages from the RCM are incorrect or do not match the checksum calculated by the ABS module. |
| U0452:86 | Invalid Data Received From Restraints Control Module: Signal Invalid | Sets if any of the RCM signal messages (yaw rate, lateral acceleration, longitudinal acceleration and roll rate) are out of range or the signal contains invalid information. |
