Electronic Limited Slip Differential (ELSD) System
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE:
Do not use the electronic limited slip differential on dry, hard surfaced roads. Doing so will produce excessive noise, vibration and increase tire wear.
The ELD system consists of the following components:
- HCU, located at the rear differential.
- Hydraulic Actuator (Plenum).
- DCMR located on the rear cross-member. Refer to: Rear Drive Axle and Differential . .
The ELD continually manages torque distribution across the rear axle (wheel to wheel) to enhance vehicle traction during wheel slip conditions and to optimize directional stability when vehicle and road conditions allow. Refer to: Rear Drive Axle and Differential .
