Front ELD

The ELD is a device housed in the front axle, and when activated allows both wheels on that axle to turn at the same speed. The ELD can provide additional traction should your vehicle become stuck.

The ELD operates by electromagnetically engaging a dog clutch, locking the side gear to the differential carrier, forcing the front wheels to rotate at the same speed. The ELD can be manually engaged/disengaged by the driver.
