Powertrain Drivetrain Mount Neutralizing

Powertrain/Drivetrain Mount Neutralizing 

Adjustment 

All vehicles 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting
  2. Remove the fasteners and the engine front undershield.

  4. Remove the fender splash shields. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield

    2.7L EcoBoost 

  5. Remove the retainers and the LH axle shaft shield.

  6. Loosen the LH engine mount bolts.

    All vehicles 

  15. NOTE: Do not twist or strain the powertrain/drivetrain mounts or damage to the mounts may occur.

    Start the vehicle and move it forward 0.6 m (1.97 ft) - 1.2 m (3.94 ft).

    Move the vehicle in reverse the same distance 0.6 m (1.97 ft) - 1.2 m (3.94 ft).

    2.3L EcoBoost 

  17. Tighten the RH engine mount nut.

    Torque: Stage 1: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm) Stage 2: 120 deg.

  18. Tighten the RH engine mount nut.

    Torque: Stage 1: 81 lb.ft (110 Nm) Stage 2: 120 deg.

  19. Tighten the LH engine mount bolt.

    Torque: Stage 1: 136 lb.ft (185 Nm) Stage 2: 60 deg.

  20. Tighten the LH engine mount nut.

    Torque: Stage 1: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm) Stage 2: 120 deg.

  21. Tighten the transmission mount nuts.

    Torque: 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)

  22. Install the LH axle shaft shield and retainers.

    2.7L EcoBoost 

  23. Tighten the LH engine mount bolts.

    Torque: Stage 1: 136 lb.ft (185 Nm) Stage 2: 60 deg.

  24. Tighten the RH engine mount nuts.

    Torque: Stage 1: 81 lb.ft (110 Nm) Stage 2: 120 deg.

  25. Tighten the transmission mount nuts.

    Torque: 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)

  26. Install the LH axle shaft shield and retainers.

  27. Install the engine rear undershield and fasteners.

    Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

  28. Install the engine front undershield and fasteners.

    Torque: 124 lb.in (14 Nm)
