Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to: Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control - System Operation and Component Description .

With the ignition ON, the ABS module sends messages to the GWM over the FD-CAN, the GWM relays the messages to the SASM over the HS-CAN2. If the SASM does not receive these messages within a certain time frame, the module sets Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). This can be due to a ABS failure, a circuit failure on the CAN network or an excessive load on the network.

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
SASM U0121:00 Lost Communication With Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Control Module "A": No Sub Type Information Sets if the SASM detects any of the ABS module messages are missing.
SASM U0415:00 Invalid Data Received from Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Control Module "A": No Sub Type Information Sets if the SASM receives invalid data in any of the following ABS module messages: steering wheel compensation angle, vehicle speed qualifier fault, vehicle speed counter failure or the vehicle speed checksum failure messages.
