Component Description: RGTM
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Ford F-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The RGTM sends voltage signals to the front and rear interior power tailgate switches and the exterior tailgate release switch. The signal is routed to ground when a switch is pressed, pulling the signal low to indicate a request to open or close the tailgate.
The RGTM receives a message from the BCM upon a valid request from the passive entry system or a RKE transmitter.
The RGTM controls the opening and closing of the power tailgate based on the inputs it receives.
For more information on the RGTM and the power tailgate Refer to: Power Tailgate - System Operation and Component Description .
