Removal And Installation: Condenser: Removal

NOTE: During the removal of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove protective materials prior to installation.
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging .
  2. Remove the radiator grille. Refer to: Radiator Grille .
  3. Remove both the headlamp assemblies. Refer to: Headlamp Assembly .
    1. All Vehicles. Disconnect the horn electrical connector and detach the wiring harness retainer.
    2. Vehicles Equipped With Hood Ajar Switch. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    3. Vehicles Not Equipped With Hood Ajar Switch. Detach the wiring harness retainer.
    4. Vehicles With Park Aid Camera. Detach the wiring harness retainers.

  4. Detach the pin-type retainer, release the clips and position the washer fluid hose aside.

    1. Remove the push-pins.
    2. Remove the bolts.

      Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

    3. Remove the bolts and the radiator grille bracket.

      Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

    1. Remove the condenser inlet, outlet line nuts and disconnect the fittings. Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.

      Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)

    2. Remove the condenser mounting bolts.

      Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  5. Remove the push-pins and the LH air deflector.

  6. Remove the bolts and position aside the power steering oil cooler.

    Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

  7. Remove the bolts, release the tab and position aside the transmission oil cooler.

    Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

  8. Release the tab and remove the condenser.
