Pinpoint Test BM: Abs (Anti-Lock Brake System) Module Communication Concern With ATCM (All Terrain Control Module): Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Ford F-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Refer to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK for schematic and connector information.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
With the ignition ON, the ATCM sends messages to the GWM over the HS-CAN2, the GWM relays these messages to the ABS module over the FD-CAN. If the ABS module does not receive these messages within the specified time frame, the ABS module sets Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). This can be due to a ATCM failure, a circuit failure on the CAN or an excessive load on the network. For information on the messages sent to the ABS module by the ATCM, REFER to: Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control - System Operation and Component Description .
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Condition |
|---|---|---|
| ABS P05D3:86 | Driver Mode Select Switch "A" Range/Performance: Signal Invalid | Sets when the drive mode message contains "invalid" instead of the actual requested drive mode. |
| ABS U0138:00 | Lost Communication with All Terrain Control Module: No Sub Type Information | Sets if the ATCM messages are missing. |
