Pinpoint Test Ag: Accelerator Pedal Position (App) Sensor

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Ford F-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: After clearing an APP sensor DTC to verify a repair or an intermittent concern, apply the accelerator pedal before carrying out the self-test. Take 10 seconds to carry out a full sweep of the accelerator pedal from fully released to fully applied and back to fully released.
NOTE: Regeneration may occur during normal operation. During regeneration, diagnostic procedures may display biased values. If a regeneration occurs during diagnostic procedures, allow the process to complete before continuing diagnostics.

Refer to OEM WIRING DIAGRAMS for schematic and connector information.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

Refer to the DTC Fault Trigger Conditions.

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
PCM P060D:00 Internal Control Module Accelerator Pedal Position Performance: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects with the APP sensor signal values and Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P2122, P2123, P2127, P2128, or P2138 are not set. An APP1_APP_D PID or APP2_APP_E PID reading may indicate a concern. Verify the PCM is at the latest calibration level.
PCM P1575:00 Pedal Position Out Of Self Test Range: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the APP1 or APP2 is greater than the expected value.
During the KOEO self-test, the PCM monitors the APP sensor signals to determine if the APP1 and APP2 signals are less than an expected value.
Make sure the floor mat is not interfering with the accelerator pedal. Repeat the self-test without applying the accelerator pedal. Diagnose any APP circuit Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) first.
PCM P2122:00 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "D" Circuit Low: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the APP sensor APP1 circuit voltage is less than 0.25 volts.
PCM P2123:00 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "D" Circuit High: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the APP sensor APP1 circuit voltage is greater than 4.75 volts.
PCM P2127:00 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "E" Circuit Low: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the APP sensor APP2 circuit voltage is less than 0.25 volts.
PCM P2128:00 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "E" Circuit High: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the APP sensor APP2 circuit voltage is greater than 4.75 volts.
PCM P2138:00 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "D"/"E" Voltage Correlation: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the APP sensor APP1 and APP2 circuit values do not agree on the position of the APP sensor.
Check the accelerator pedal for obstructions.
