Lane Keeping Alert

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Ford F-550 Super Duty, 2019 Ford F-450 Super Duty, 2019 Ford F-350 Super Duty, and 2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The lane keeping alert generates vibration through the steering wheel when an unintended lane departure is detected by the IPMA. When commanded by the IPMA, the SECM rapidly oscillates the power steering left to right, simulating the vehicle driving on a rumble strip. The intensity of the steering wheel vibration can be adjusted using the Driver Assist options in the message center. The system also provides a visual alert in the message center when a lane departure is detected.
