Powertrain Control Module (PCM): Removal

NOTE: Powertrain Control Module (PCM) installation DOES NOT require new keys or programming of keys, only a Parameter Reset of the PATS.NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Retrieve the module configuration. Carry out the module configuration retrieval steps of the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) procedure. Refer to: Module Configuration - System Operation and Component Description . Use the General Equipment: Ford Diagnostic Equipment
- Remove the LHF fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
- Remove the retainers and the PCM cover.
Torque: 27 lb.in (3 Nm)

- Disconnect the PCM electrical connectors.
- Remove the retainers and the PCM.
