    Possible Sources

    • Vehicle level voltage concern
    • AWD module voltage supply
    • AWD module ground
    • AWD module
    • Wrong AWD software flashed on module -Overall vehicle battery supply

  2. C1 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE DTC IN OTHER MODULES

    • Ignition ON.

    • Connect the diagnostic scan tool.

    • Retrieve continuous memory DTC.

Are voltage DTC set in other modules?

    Yes  REFER to: Charging System - 2.3L EcoBoost (199kW/270PS) . REFER to: Charging System - 2.7L EcoBoost (238kW/324PS) .
    No  GO to  C2
  3. C2 CHECK VOLTAGE AND GROUND TO THE AWD MODULE

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Disconnect AWD module connector C2371.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead

Is the voltage greater than 10v and remain constant while wiggle testing the harness?

Yes  REPAIR the ground circuit. CLEAR all CMDTC.
No  VERIFY BJB fuse 15 (25A) and fuse 54 (40A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the open circuit or short to power. If not OK, REFER to OEM Electrical Wiring Diagram Introduction to identify possible causes of the circuit short. CLEAR all CMDTC.
  5. C4 VERIFY CONCERN IS PRESENT

    • Ignition ON.

    • Connect the diagnostic scan tool.

    • Clear continuous memory DTC.

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Open and Close Driver's door to initiate module shut down.

    • Wait 1 minute for AWD module to sleep.

    • Start Engine, allow to idle for 1 minute.

    • Retrieve continuous memory DTC.

Did the voltage or internal fault DTC set again?

Yes  INSTALL a new AWD module. REFER to: All-Wheel Drive (AWD) Module .
No  The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. Address the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
