Pinpoint Test K: P166A

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    REFER to: Module Controlled Functions - Component Location . .

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
    PCM P166A:00 Restraints Deployment Communication Circuit: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets when the PCM detects an open or short in the IES circuit.

    Possible Sources 

    • BCM
    • Wiring, terminals or connectors

  2. K1 DIAGNOSE THE CONCERN USING THE ENGINE CONTROLS INFORMATION

    • Diagnose the concern using the Engine Controls pinpoint test.

    Did the diagnosis in Engine Controls instruct to install a new BCM? 

    Yes  REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM)
    No  The concern was resolved using the Engine Controls pinpoint test.
