| Accelerator pedal position |
PCM |
The ABS module uses accelerator pedal position information for correct operation of the traction control, ESC and hill start assist systems. |
| Brake pedal applied |
PCM |
Used to inform the ABS module the driver has pressed the brake pedal. This message is used by the ABS module to check the brake pressure sensor located inside the HCU and for hill start assist operation. |
| Brake on-off switch |
PCM |
Used to inform the ABS module the driver has pressed the brake pedal. This message is used by the ABS module to check the brake pressure sensor located inside the HCU and for hill start assist operation. |
| Car mode |
BCM |
The stability control system reacts differently depending on the current car mode; normal, factory, transport or crash. This message informs the ABS module of the current car mode. |
| Cruise control status |
IPMA |
This message informs the ABS module of the current status of the cruise control system; off, denied, standby or active. |
| Door ajar status |
BCM |
The ABS module resets the parameters used for ESC and RSC when a door is opened. |
| Engine RPM |
PCM |
Used to inform the ABS module of the current engine RPM. The ABS module uses this information for traction control, ESC, RSC and hill start assist operations. |
| Hood ajar status |
BCM |
The ABS module resets the parameters used for ESC and RSC when the hood is opened. |
| Parking brake active |
BCM |
This message provides the ABS module with the current parking brake status; applied or not applied. This information is used for hill start assist operation. |
| RCM serial number |
RCM |
The ABS module stores the RCM serial number and verifies the serial number when the vehicle is started or the ignition is set to run or accessory. Over time, the ABS module learns the offset of the stability sensors inside the RCM. When a new RCM serial number is found and the ABS Calibration procedure is carried out using a diagnostic scan tool, the ABS module resets the offset number learned for ESC and RSC. |
| Steering angle counter |
PSCM |
The ABS module uses steering angle sensor information for ESC and RSC operation. This message provides the ABS module with the current steering wheel angle count. |
| Steering angle status |
PSCM |
The ABS module uses steering angle sensor information for ESC and RSC operation. This message indicates the steering wheel rotation angle (in degrees of rotation from center) and steering wheel rotation speed (in degrees per second). |
| Trailer brake control connection |
TBM |
This message informs the ABS module that a trailer is connected to the vehicle. The ABS module uses this information for trailer sway control operation. |
| Transmission gear position |
PCM (Gasoline engines only) |
The TCM is an internal component of the PCM. This message informs the ABS module of which gear the transmission is currently using, this is used for hill start assist, ESC and RSC operation. Hill start assist operates in forward and reverse gears. ESC and RSC do not operate when the transmission is in REVERSE. |
| Transmission gear position |
TCM (Diesel engines only) |
This message informs the ABS module of which gear the transmission is currently using, this is used for hill start assist, ESC and RSC operation. Hill start assist operates in forward and reverse gears. ESC and RSC do not operate when the transmission is in REVERSE. |
| Transmission gear lever position |
PCM (Gasoline engines only) |
The TCM is an internal component of the PCM. This message informs the ABS module of which gear the transmission is currently using, this is used for hill start assist, ESC and RSC operation. Hill start assist operates in forward and reverse gears. ESC and RSC do not operate when the transmission is in REVERSE. |
