Trailer Brake Control Module (TBM): Removal

NOTE:
The trailer brake system is normally installed at the assembly plant, however, the system can be installed at the dealership. If the system is installed at the dealership, the TBM will be installed in place of the coin bin/storage tray and the IPC must be configured to communicate with the TBM. Refer to appropriate service information.
All vehicles
- Remove the FCIM. Vehicles Without: SYNC, Refer to: Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM)

Vehicles With: SYNC Without Touchscreen, Refer to: Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM)

Vehicles With: Touchscreen Display, Refer to: Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM)

Vehicles With: Bang and Olufsen Audio System, Refer to: Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM)

Vehicles equipped with floor console
- Remove the screws and the center instrument panel lower finish panel.
Vehicles without floor console
- Remove the screw, detach the clips and remove the center instrument panel lower finish panel.
- Detach the clips, disconnect the electrical connector(s) if equipped and remove the LH center instrument panel finish panel. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
Vehicles equipped with floor console
- Place the transmission selector lever in the NEUTRAL position.
- Detach the clips and remove the floor console upper finish panel.
- Detach the clips, disconnect the electrical connector(s) (if equipped) and remove the LH center instrument panel finish panel. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
All vehicles

NOTE: Do not pry on the face of the TBM or damage to the TBM may occur.
Pushing from the backside of the TBM, detach the module from the instrument panel.
- Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the TBM.
