Pinpoint Test AF: Abs (Anti-Lock Brake System) Module VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) Mismatch
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Ford Police Interceptor Utility and 2022 Ford Explorer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
REFER to: Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control - System Operation and Component Description .
When the ignition is set to ON, the ABS module and the BCM share VIN information through the GWM over the CAN. If the ABS module has a different VIN than the BCM due to incorrect module configuration, a DTC sets.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Condition |
|---|---|---|
| ABS U3002:51 | Vehicle Identification Number: Not Programmed | Sets when the VIN message sent by the BCM, through the GWM and over the CAN, contains 'null' or 'Vin_not_programmed' instead of the actual VIN. This indicates the VIN has not yet been programmed. |
| ABS U3002:62 | Vehicle Identification Number: Signal Compare Failure | Sets when the VIN message sent by the BCM, through the GWM and over the CAN, does not match the VIN stored in the ABS module. |
