The SECM controls the steering wheel vibration using the adaptive steering motor and communicates with other modules through the SASM over the HS-CAN2. The SECM provides power and ground to the adaptive steering motor.

The SECM and the SASM communicate over a private CAN.

The SECM cannot be serviced independently. It is only replaced as an assembly with the steering wheel.

The SECM requires PMI when replaced.
