Pinpoint Test AO: SASM Module Reset Concern

  1. AO1 RESET THE SASM AND RECHECK THE DTC

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear all SASM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the SASM self-test.

    Is any DTC from the DTC Fault Trigger Conditions Table present and active in the SASM? 

    Yes  GO to  AO2
    No  The condition causing the DTC is not preset at this time. CHECK all SASM electrical connectors for secure connections.
  2. AO2 RESET THE SASM AND RECHECK THE DTC

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the SASM Module Reset routine.

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the SASM self-test.

    Is the DTC present and active in the SASM? 

    Yes  INSTALL a new SASM-Clockspring assembly. REFER to: Clockspring - Vehicles With: Adaptive Steering .
    No  The SASM module reset has resolved the condition causing the DTC. The repair is complete.
